Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, our international teams in Burkina Faso continue to support the most vulnerable. At the end of June, they distributed more than 60 shelter kits for displaced families in Bourzanga. The communities will participate to the installation of their houses with the support of Red Cross volunteers.
Our teams also coordinated a Shelter Training for ten humanitarian workers. The training was held in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, on 26. and on 27. May, with the support of the Luxembourg Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs. It aims at improving the quality of future humanitarian responses with a Shelter component.
In parallel, we organised health promotion sessions for the local population, raising its awareness of health safety measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the country. We already reached out to 250 households in Bourzanga and in Djibo, in the Sahel region, with these activities.
