International Aid in the Spotlight
Our international aid team will welcome you at their stand to showcase their humanitarian work around the world.
You can explore a photo exhibition, watch videos, and see a life-sized shelter model. Architecture students from Lycée Aline Mayrisch will also present the shelter solution they developed in collaboration with our Shelter Research Unit in response to the floods in northern Lake Tanganyika in Burundi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
HELPING YOUTH IN DISTRESS
Throughout the weekend, visitors of the Bazar will be able to meet professional and volunteer teams from the Luxembourg Red Cross who offer a personalized and relevant response for each situation: psychological or educational support, organization of vacations, work with people experiencing social or family breakdown
The Humanitarian Aid will present the challenges faced by the Luxembourg Red Cross abroad during natural disasters or armed conflicts. Its experts will be on hand at the Bazaar to discuss development projects and related commitments. To illustrate our work on International Humanitarian Law, you will be invited to take part in a unique escape game.
THE LUXEMBOURG CITY SECTION
More than 600 volunteers make up the local chapter in Luxembourg City. It is thanks to their efforts that a large number of initiatives are organized, including the Red Cross Bazar and Ball.
The Luxembourg City branch is one of 32 local branches of the Luxembourg Red Cross throughout the country. They are the platform for action for some 1,500 volunteers, and are the living expression of the Red Cross’s closeness to the country and its people, which has been the case for over a century.
In April, all local sections get actively involved in the annual “Month of Giving” fundraising campaign.
