18 May 2021
Started in 2013 by the HIV in Europe movement, the aim of the European Testing Week, which takes place from 14 May to 21 May 2021, is to promote the benefits of HIV testing, to make people aware of the risks they may face and to inform them of the effectiveness of treatment in the event of testing HIV-positive.
The HIV Berodung service would like to reiterate that in the fight against HIV, testing is now more than ever a relevant prevention tool. Being aware of one’s serological status not only allows the infected person to adapt their behaviour, but also to benefit from medical care and to rapidly reach an undetectable viral load.
At the HIV Berodung service, it is possible to make an appointment for a screening test using a rapid diagnostic test, on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5 to 7 pm. The appointment is anonymous, the person is simply given a number and has to come at an agreed date and time.
At the CIGALE Centre, located at 16 rue Notre Dame, a TROD testing service is provided every Thursday between 12.30 and 2.30 pm. In order to respect the existing social distancing measures and health recommendations, screening will also be carried out by appointment by calling 2755-4500.
The HIV Berodung’s HIV self-testing service is still available and can be requested by calling 2755 – 4500 or by email hivberodung@croix-rouge.lu.
