“Red Ribbon Fashion” is the theme of this year’s annual “Preventive Art” competition, launched by the HIV Berodung service of the Luxembourg Red Cross. The 2021 edition sees showing solidarity as a fashion statement.
The focus of the 2021 competition is on creating clothes and/or fashion accessories featuring the Red Ribbon, used as the international symbol of solidarity with those living with HIV.
Budding designers have free reign to choose whichever materials and fabrics they want; the only proviso being that the garment or accessory (hats, handbags, scarves for example) created must be wearable and highlight or represent the Red Ribbon.
There are different categories: Youth (from 13 to 20 years old), Individuals (over 21s) and Artists.
The competition is now open to entries, and projects must be submitted by 5pm on 8 November 2021.
The projects received will be evaluated by a mixed jury composed of HIV Berodung staff, at least one representative from the fashion industry and one representative from each of our sponsors: Cap4Lap, Post Luxembourg and Saturn.
In addition to the winners selected for the three categories by the jury, a fourth winner will be chosen by the public on Facebook. The winner of the “Facebook Audience Award” will be the project that receives the most “likes” on the HIV Berodung Facebook page: DIMPS-Project during the online voting period.
Depending on the number of projects received, a selection of projects will be presented at our annual solidarity event on 1 December 2021 (World AIDS Day) and on our social networks.
You will find below the file to download with the technical details, the rules of the competition and the registration form to be filled in and handed in at the presentation of the works.
