Since June 2022, the innovative project “Komm mat an d’Natur” by the Luxembourg Red Cross has been offering leisure activities exclusively for children, young people and their families, who are accompanied by the Child and Family Welfare Service or by the Red Cross Refugee Welfare Service.
As the name of the project suggests, its main focus is nature and movement, allowing for moments of relaxation and entertainment.
In recent months, several groups of children and their families have already benefited from the activities offered and had an unforgettable time with their peers, friends or family. For example, refugee children were able to let off steam during an activity with their peers in the high ropes course, while their parents took care of other things. Moreover, even though they currently live apart, families were able to spend time together exploring a barefoot trail thanks to their participation in an activity.
Activities are offered throughout the year, across the country and for different age groups. In cooperation with sports clubs, animal and nature educators, nature conservation associations and youth centres, the project can offer a very wide range of activities. Educators organise the activities and supervise the children, young people and families during their participation. They are supported by volunteers who are committed to the wellbeing of the children, young people and their families. Finally, the project takes place under the guidance of an educational coordinator.
Families accompanied by a Red Cross Child and Family Welfare or Refugee Welfare service can find out more about the activities from their reference person or directly from the professionals of the “Komm mat an d’Natur” project.
Participation is free of charge and only registration is required.
