INFORMATION NOTICE ON THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA IN THE CONTEXT OF THE APPLICATION FOR A HOST FAMILY

The Luxembourg Red Cross and the Fondation Caritas Luxembourg attach great importance to the respect of your privacy and the protection of your personal data. This notice is intended to inform you of the use that is made of the personal data we collect, and of the rights you have.

Why do we process your data?

Your personal data are collected and processed for the purpose of processing your application for a host family. The Luxembourg Red Cross and the Fondation Caritas Luxembourg process your personal data jointly as joint controllers.

This data processing is carried out on the basis of the Luxembourg Red Cross’ mission of public interest to help relieve all victims of war in accordance with the law of 16 August 1923 and the Fondation Caritas Luxembourg’s mission of public interest. The processing of data of particular categories such as data on your health is based on your explicit consent. You have the possibility to withdraw your consent at any time.

What kind of data do we collect?

We only collect the data necessary for carrying out our mission. The personal data that is sent is mainly the identification data of the person requesting accommodation in a host family (surname, first name), his/her age, contact details (telephone number, email address), languages spoken, the number of adults and children in the household and their ages, your health data (pregnancy, allergies, health problems, vaccination against Covid-19)

Your data is kept for the time necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected.

Your data is treated confidentially and will be stored in the European Union.

What are your rights?

In accordance with the law, you have the following rights:

• The right to information. We hope this notice has answered your questions.
• The right to access your data.
• The right to rectify your data if it is incorrect or out of date.
• The right to lodge a complaint with the National Commission for Data Protection (CNPD) if you believe that the processing of your data has not complied with the law.

In certain cases, and under the conditions laid down by law, you also have the following rights

• The right to request the erasure of your data.
• The right to request the restriction of the processing of your data.
• The right to object to the processing of your data on legitimate grounds.
• The right to portability of the data you have provided to us (i.e., the right to receive your personal data on a machine-readable form), insofar as this is technically possible.
