Climate change is having a direct impact on people’s lives everywhere, from repeated flooding to poor harvests due to temperature fluctuations or even forest fires. What is true in our country is even more violent in Africa. Moreover, the means to respond to these catastrophic impacts are much more limited, leading to landslides, severe drought, epidemics, famine and even displacement. Children are once again the first victims.
Our teams provide concrete and rapid responses to reduce the impact of these natural phenomena and protect vulnerable people from natural hazards.
Every year, we plant hundreds of thousands of trees and bamboo in Africa. We are working with communities to ensure better waste management and prevent disease and pollution, while providing children with streets and play areas that are no longer covered in plastic litter. We are also helping to reduce wood consumption by promoting and building improved cooking stoves.
