Mentoring is the coaching process whereby an experienced person (the mentor) advises an inexperienced partner (the mentee) whose social, cognitive or technical skills and experience are insufficient. It involves associating the project’s target group with professionals who have good professional contacts, helping them to familiarise themselves with the codes of conduct and culture of the professional world and to expand their professional network.

The objectives of mentoring are to :

  • develop social, linguistic and cognitive skills
  • strengthen job-seeking skills
  • broaden socio-professional networks
  • boost self-confidence and independence
  • enter the job market

while contributing to :

  • reappropriate their talents for both mentor and mentee
  • Strengthening social cohesion: building social links and local solidarity between two distant groups.

In practice?

A mentoring agreement for a maximum of 6 months with 1 to 2 meetings per month between mentor and mentee

  • Availability, attentiveness and exchanges with the project coordinator
