Young people need freedom – and they often also need help in very real terms. Both are essential for children to be able to grow, and for young people to become able to live their lives independently. It is true that families can achieve much I this regard, but not everything. What’s more, parents are not always able to fulfil their role.
Concrete help, short or long term
We support young people in difficult situations. In many institutions of the Luxembourg Red Cross, experts help children and young people – or their families – to set up the conditions they need to live independently.
Autonomy is also at the heart of Red Cross youth centres and holiday camps, where children and young people find the freedom to organise their leisure time in an inspiring way. Young people also play an active role as volunteer carers.
In addition, the Luxembourg Red Cross runs crèches and day care centres for children and young people and advises families, in particular, on all aspects of adoption.
